About

Cecilia has helped build brand identity for organizations across tech, culture, public education, civic infrastructure, environmental justice, and trust-based philanthropy. What ties all these efforts together is the chance to geek out over marketing and communications as a lever for a more connected society. She approaches stories as the basis for greater understanding, healing, and progress. Passionate about building communitywide participation, she strives to open the lines of communication so that people can create solutions together.

Cecilia is a 10th generation Chicana, born and raised in Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Most recently, Cecilia was a senior communications manager at Microsoft, where she led strategic communications and content initiatives that brought the company’s culture to life. Before that, she served as a senior project manager for EnviroIssues, managing public engagement efforts for clients like the Seattle Department of Transportation, Puget Sound Energy, and Seattle Public Utilities.

When not working, Cecilia enjoys library visits with her toddler, cuddle puddles with her Italian Greyhound, and exploring Washington waterways with her husband by sailboat, fishing boat, or waders.
